What’s new at the Cotino Storyliving By Disney community

Since we first shared the news that Disney Signature Experiences was building Cotino, a Storyliving by Disney residential community, there’s been a lot of construction going on in California’s Coachella Valley.

Cotino will feature more than 300 homes developed by Walt Disney Imagineering – one-third designated for home buyers aged 55+ – with designs inspired by the history and landscape of the greater Palm Springs area, a destination Walt Disney often visited with his own family.

Recently, Brett Iwan (the voice of Mickey Mouse) checked out Contino’s progress with Anthony Henry from Storyliving by Disney.

Longtable Park

Cotino’s Long Table Park area, reserved for homeowners 55+, will be ready for its first residents early next year. According to Disney, the name “Long Table Park” is a nod to Walt’s personal experiences in the Palm Springs area, where he said he often joined his neighbors for “a group breakfast and good conversation around a friendly table” after a morning of activities in the desert.

Exclusive to the residents of this neighborhood, Longtable Park has been designed as a gathering place surrounded by palo verde and olive trees and featuring barbecue grills, bocce ball courts, and shaded seating areas.

Artisan Club

The foundation has also been laid for the Artisan Club, an optional community hub Cotino residents can join, offering Disney-curated programming, dining, and waterfront activities on the (future) artificial Cotino Bay.

Cotino’s Artisan Club will also feature The Parr House, a mid-century modern structure inspired by the super house in “Incredibles 2.”

Artisan Club is expected to open in the summer of 2025.

Cotino Homes

The Cotino development will include three detached single-family home collections: The Cottage Collection, the Grand Collection, and the Estate Collection. Three award-winning builders – Shea Homes, Davidson Communities, and Woodbridge Pacific Group – all have construction underway.

According to Henry, Shea Homes is putting the finishing touches on their first model homes, which will be open for tours soon.

Woodbridge Pacific Group and Davidson Communities model homes will open in early 2025.
