Disney Cruise Line’s 25th Anniversary takes place in 2023, and the silver anniversary will be marked with special sailings and surprises across the fleet. In July 1998, the Disney Magic embarked on its maiden voyage as the first Disney Cruise Line ship. The fleet keeps growing with the debut of the Disney Wish earlier this year as well as the recent acquisition of one of the largest cruise ships in the world. During the summer of 2023, new magic will unfold for Disney Cruise Line’s 25th anniversary, with special entertainment, merchandise, and celebratory experiences on select summer sailings during the “Silver Anniversary at Sea.”
Disney Cruise Line has come to the rescue of the Global Dream. The under-construction ship for the bankrupt Dream Cruises was set to be the largest cruise ship by passenger volume. Disney acquired the ship today, and will bring it to the Meyer Werft shipyard to finish the construction. The Global Dream will be renamed and its features reimagined by Walt Disney Imagineers in order to set sail in 2025.
