Deadpool arrives at Disney theme parks
Deadpool is now appearing at Disney parks in California and Paris — with Wolverine joining him in Cali! — for a limited time, announced by a photo shoot of the hero treating himself to a Disney day.

Deadpool coming to Disney parks
In honor of the release of “Deadpool & Wolverine” in theaters, Deadpool himself made his Disney theme park debut. The antihero now appears in both iterations of Avengers Campus — at Disneyland Resort’s California Adventure, as well as at Disneyland Paris’ Walt Disney Studios.

Disney announced the news via social media, but specifically did not use the words “meet & greet” or “character greeting.” Rather, Disney said guests can “catch him for a limited time.”
Deadpool AND Wolverine at Disneyland Resort
Update, July 26, 2024: In a surprise, Disney has announced Wolverine will join Deadpool for his limited-time appearances at Disney California Adventure.

The duo appears during “Story Time with Deadpool,” a new entertainment offering outside of the Hyperion Theater (near Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission – Breakout!).
From his favorite cozy reading chair, join Deadpool as he reads from his big book of super special stories. These family-friendly tales will delight, charm, and inspire in the way only Deadpool can. (Really, these stories are suitable for all ages!)
Disneyland Resort
Showtimes for “Story Time with Deadpool” are listed in the Disneyland app.

The interior of the Hyperion Theater remains inaccessible; the venue formerly hosted Broadway-style shows themed to “Aladdin,” “Frozen,” and Deadpool’s idol, Captain America.
Additionally, Deadpool and Wolverine “might” appear during performances of “Avengers Assemble!” and “Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance-Off!,” according to Disney.
Deadpool stuns in photo shoot at Disney California Adventure
Deadpool touched down at California Adventure as only he can: by taking over attractions and enjoying them all for himself before meeting any guests.

Sure, the Carthay Circle Restaurant on Buena Vista Street honors the historic location where “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” premiered in 1937, but Deadpool thought it could use a change of scenery.

Of course, he had to check out one of California Adventure’s newest areas, San Fransokyo Square, themed after “Big Hero 6.” (Did you know “Big Hero 6” is the only Walt Disney Animation Studios film to be inspired by Marvel Comics?) We have a feeling Deadpool and Baymax would get along.

Not to overlook the classics, Deadpool stopped by The Bakery Tour to salivate over some of Boudin’s Mickey-shaped bread. Wonder if he learned anything about bread-making from Rosie O’Donnell and Colin Mochrie’s video?

Never one to be intimidated by other heroes, Deadpool rode Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure. We hope he read our guide for how to boost your Web Slingers score.

Deadpool capped it all off with an ode to the mouse who started it all (or corporate symbol, as he might have said), learning how to draw Mickey at Animation Academy.

Disney characters at California Adventure
In addition to Deadpool’s Disney arrival, Avengers Campus at California Adventure has a history of debuting new characters as various Marvel projects release. Such synergy has included Scarlet Witch roaming the land during the opening weeks of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” Shuri’s Black Panther doing the same for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” and more.
Deadpool will be the first character who originated in Fox’s side of Marvel films to appear in a Disney theme park. Prior to Disney’s acquisition of Fox assets in 2019, “Deadpool” and “Deadpool 2” (as well as films in the “X-Men” and “Fantastic Four” franchises) were produced by 20th Century Fox (now called 20th Century Studios), separately from the Disney-owned Marvel Studios. “Deadpool & Wolverine” comes from both 20th Century Studios and Marvel Studios, now completely under Disney ownership.
California Adventure will host another limited-engagement character appearance when the titular star of “Disney Jr.’s Ariel” will debut in a one-day-only cavalcade on Aug. 8.
