Haunted house reveals

‘Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines’

Get caught in an epic battle as Saskia Van Helsing and the Bride of Frankenstein go up against Dracula’s daughter and her monstrous mavens.

‘Insidious: The Further’

Guests will follow in the footsteps of the Lamberts, encountering familiar settings and scares as they are transported directly into “The Further” — the ethereal place where ghosts and demons lurk. And just like in the films, guests will quickly learn that the paranormal creatures are here to stay.

The haunted house will be based on multiple “Insidious” films from Blumhouse Productions and Sony Pictures, featuring appearances by various villains: The Red-Faced Demon, KeyFace, Bride in Black, and the spirit of the Man Who Can’t Breathe.

Universal previously created haunted houses entitled Insidious: Return to the Further (which operated in Orlando in 2015) and Insidious: Beyond the Further (in Hollywood in 2017).

‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire’

An ancient artifact has released a chilling new entity, Garraka. Try not to freeze in fear as he freezes people before your eyes. Only the Ghostbusters can stop you from getting iced.

The “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” film, which debuted in theaters earlier this year (check out our reporter Connor’s review!), is a sequel to 2021’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” itself a legacy sequel to the original “Ghostbusters” films from the ’80s.

‘A Quiet Place

In this universe, Earth has been overtaken by horrifying, sightless creatures who find their prey with their exceptional hearing. The only way to survive is by staying completely silent. In this HHN house, you, like the Abbott family (those films’ protagonists), will creep from the farmhouse to the woods to the foundry in complete quiet. That is, you’d better move in complete quiet. One slip-up and you’ll summon the terrifying creatures, who will silence you for good.

“A Quiet Place” will be the first HHN haunted house to utilize American Sign Language (ASL), an integral component to the “Quiet Place” movies.

Paramount’s “A Quiet Place” released in theaters in 2018, followed by “A Quiet Place Part II” in 2021. A spin-off, “A Quiet Place: Day One,” debuted in theaters in June 2024. Universal’s haunted house, however, will focus solely on the first two films, both of which were directed by John Krasinski. (Our kid reporter, Chase, recently interviewed Krasinski at the world premiere of his newest movie, “If.”)

Triplets of Terror’

You’re invited to the Barmy triplets’ birthday bash. But beware, they celebrate by recreating their family’s murders. Prepare for a gory gathering.

“Triplets of Terror” is an original story from Universal Creative, not based on existing horror franchises.

‘Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America’

With La Muerte as your guide, you’ll be begging for piedad from these three terrifying legends: Tlahuelpuchi, La Lechuza, and El Silbón.

A haunted house of the same name operated on the west coast in 2023 at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights. Time will tell how similar or different Orlando’s counterpart will be to the previous version.

‘The Museum: Deadly Exhibits’

You decide to visit the new folklore museum exhibit, The Rotting Stone, when an evil escapes from within, destroying everything in its path.

“The Museum: Deadly Exhibits” is a story original to Universal Creative, not based on existing horror franchises.

‘Major Sweets Candy Factory’

You’ve been invited to chaperone a field trip to a candy factory. The deadly delicious treats turn the kids into sugar-fueled fiends.

“Major Sweets Candy Factory” will extend a story that began in 2022 at HHN31. During that year’s event, a scare zone called “Sweet Revenge” featured original characters Major Sweets (pictured in the HHN33 haunted house logo above) and Miss Treats. In 2022, Universal described “Sweet Revenge” this way: “Set against the backdrop of a 1950s movie theater, a family tragedy turns a young boy’s sweet demeanor to bitter vengeance. The price of admission for this showing? Your life.”

‘Goblin’s Feast’

Welcome to the Goblin’s Feast Tavern and visit the goblin village where a lavish feast is being prepared for goblins, orcs, hobgoblins, and witches. And you’re the main course.

Slaughter Sinema 2

If you’re dying for a b-movie horror marathon, head to the Carey drive-in. Scream through scenes from creature features, grindhouse gore, spaghetti westerns, and more.

“Slaughter Sinema 2” is a sequel to 2018’s “Slaughter Sinema” haunted house, itself a campy tribute to slasher films.

Although the “Slaughter Sinema ” universe isn’t based on a pre-existing IP or movie franchise, its story is a continuation of original lore compounded from HHNs of years past. The house will take place in Carey, Ohio, a fictional setting that HHN has utilized over a dozen times.

Discover Universal, an official Universal Orlando blog, says Carey has been “incorporated into the lives and origins of numerous [HHN] characters including The Director, The Usher, Legendary Truth, Cindy Caine, and H.R. Bloodengutz. The town also pops up as one of the more frequent settings for houses and scare zones, finally earning top billing for HHN30’s Welcome to SCarey: Horror in the Heartland.”

Scare zones

In addition to the 10 haunted houses of Halloween Horror Nights 2024, the event will feature five scare zones, themed outdoor areas within the park’s promenades.
