KFC is getting a collectible Krypto bucket inspired by the popcorn bucket craze
Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) is entering the collectible movie merch craze with a new Supergirl-themed Krypto bucket. Long dominated by theme parks and movie theaters, the collectible craze is now flying into the fast-food world.
Attractions Magazine and publications like ours have witnessed the explosion of collectible popcorn buckets across destinations like AMC Theatres, Cinemark, Universal Destinations & Experiences, and Disney parks, where limited-time food containers have become fandom-driven moments. Now, that same collector mentality is arriving at the drive-thru, with KFC launching an ultra-limited Krypto Collectible Bucket tied to DC Studios’ upcoming “Supergirl” film.
To Krypto and beyond
Beyond the Krypto bucket, KFC is building the entire promotion around collectible culture and themed menu items tied to DC Studios’ upcoming “Supergirl” film.
Starting June 8, KFC will launch the ‘Supergirl Ultimate Meal,’ which includes one of five blind bag collectible keychains featuring characters from the movie.
The lineup includes two versions of Supergirl along with Lobo, Ruthye, and Krypto, with the mystery “blind bag” format designed to encourage repeat visits and collecting.
The meal itself also leans heavily into the film’s branding with themed menu items and colorful presentation, including:
- Supergirl’s Solar Honey Mustard
- Ruthye’s Sweet Chili Revenge
- Lobo’s Wild Ranch
- A blue “Kryptonian Kooler” featuring Starry, blue raspberry syrup, and strawberry boba

A KFC comeback
The promotion also marks KFC’s first film-inspired collectible campaign in more than 20 years.
