Six Flags Fiesta Texas

Six Flags Fiesta Texas near San Antonio posted a photo on its social media platforms of a billboard in the park on Feb. 14, 2026. Keeping in line with modern marketing, the billboard displays both practical information and presumably fictional teases related to the future attraction’s backstory.

Of the practical, the billboard says: “A 2027 Six Flags Fiesta Texas Development Coming Soon! Out of this World Attraction”

Of the fictional, it displays: “Crackaxle Canyon Community Cooperative | Holler At Us 210-697-5476 to Learn More”

The telephone number listed is a real line. Upon calling, curious guests hear a recorded message on a loop. The speaker seems to be onsite, with a jackhammer and construction activity audible in the distance. The character is frequently distracted by the bustle of activity. Here’s the full transcript of the message:

One second! Thanks for calling the Crackaxle Canyon Community Cooperative. We’re helping you find what’s within. Sorry. Now we’ve got this out-of-this-world development zooming to you in 2027, and you’re definitely gonna want to slide on by.

We’ve got 130,000 square feet of adventure coming to you within this magnificent quarry wall with majestic wildlife and — hey, hey, hey! — and a whole bunch more.

Now we’re glad to be partnering with Six Flags Fiesta Texas, so holler at us day or not and leave us a message. Oh, boy, I can just picture it. Hey, hey!!

Crackaxle Canyon Screampunk District is an existing area of Six Flags Fiesta Texas. It’s where the following attractions are located: Lone Star Lil’s Amphitheater, The Gully Washer, Fiesta Texas Railroad Whistlestop Station #39, Dare Devil Flying Machines, Yosemite Sam’s Wacky Wagons, Foghorn Leghorn’s Barnyard Railway, Bucking Broncos, Iron Rattle, Road Runner Express, and Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger.

Carowinds

Carowinds in Charlotte, N.C., teased a mystery announcement for something coming to the park in 2027 involving a large wooden box.

Carowinds social media platforms posted a cryptic photo on Jan. 19, 2026, depicting a black-and-white close-up of a wooden box or crate (or perhaps the convergence of two wooden walls). The photo was posted with the caption, “Did ya hear? Somethin’ is out there… #WHATSINTHEWOODS #CAROWINDS2027”

Carowinds is the home park of Six Flags’ global headquarters in Charlotte, N.C.

In 2024, Six Flags announced a “record-breaking water ride” would open at Carowinds in 2026, but no further details were ever announced and the park currently has not revealed a new attraction for its 2026 season. This new tease for 2027 may or may not be the same project.

As for where the mystery 2027 attraction could be located within Carowinds, the park has several plots of land seemingly viable. In recent years, construction crews have cleared the former Rip Roarin’ Rapids ride path and elsewhere dismantled the Nighthawk roller coaster. There’s also a sizable area that was once used as the walking path for the Dinosaurs Alive attraction.

The load station and roller coaster footers once belonging to Nighthawk, seen here in August 2025. The coaster’s track was dismantled, but many of its other components remain.
The now-defunct Dinosaurs Alive trail, seen here in 2018 with Afterburn soaring behind it.

Carowinds most recently opened a roller coaster named Snoopy’s Racing Railway and a water battle ride called Charlie Brown’s River Raft Blast, both in 2025 in the park’s Camp Snoopy area.

Carowinds opens for its 2026 season on March 14.

Six Flags merged with Cedar Fair in 2024; Carowinds formerly belong to the latter, Six Flags Fiesta Texas to the former. Together, the combined company owns a portfolio of over 50 parks. Personnel said as recently as November 2025 that selling or closing some of those parks is “priority.” In December 2025, Six Flags installed SeaWorld alum John Reilly as its new CEO.

  1. Six Flags is a sad company. They can’t even come up with enough cash to buy the original Six Flags in Arlington, TX. The company is barely surviving. Look for them to unload a lot of parks in the next 18 months. Universal is making a run at them in Dallas/Ft. Worth with a new park in Frisco, TX. Don’t be surprised if they buy Six Flags Over Texas and convert it into a Universal Islands of Adventure park.
