Disney receives 17 Oscar nominations, including ‘Black Panther’ for Best Picture
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed this year’s nominees for the Oscars this morning, Jan. 22, and Disney walked away with 17 nominations – including a historic Best Picture nomination for Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther.”

Disney’s other nominations include four for “Mary Poppins Returns,” nods for “Incredibles 2” and “Ralph Breaks the Internet” for Best Animated Feature Film, and a nomination for “Avengers: Infinity War” for Best Visual Effects.

Seriously? Whack Panther could easily win the award for most boring screenplay. Some great visual effects, but the story is lame and derivative and the ancillary characters are ridiculous caricature.
